BOSTITCH Air Compressors

The Bostitch brand has been around for more than 100 years, and it has spent those years manufacturing fasteners such as nail guns, staplers, and glue guns. I tested one of the company’s core offerings, its 3-Tool Compressor Combo Kit, while rebuilding the deck on my Colorado home. Find out how this compressor helped me employ some new tools and if it helped me get the project done any faster or better.

Bostitch is renowned across the globe for manufacturing reliable, durable, and efficient air compressors, and pneumatic tools. As a matter of fact, their  BTFP02012 air compressor model is one of the best pancake-style portable air compressors you can buy today.

Powered by an efficient, easy-start electric motor, the Oil-Free compressor pump runs silently to deliver about 2.6SCFM at 90PSI. The model s fitted with a high-flow regulator and two couplers to help optimize the performance of your air tools.

Bostitch offers a lot of power tools with maximum features. The tank size of the tool is the most convenient feature. With the pancake shape of the tank, it already alleviates the heaviness of the tool. The 6-gallon air tank allows you to power up numerous pneumatic tools without any break. This size also helps while you are up to do a long-lasting project.

The pressure gauge represents the saved air in the tank to the users for their convenience. There is another pressure gauge in the tank that is the outlet pressure gauge. It signals the availability of air pressure. Besides, there is a slight difference between the tank pressure and outlet pressure. The regulator knob can be conducted by the users.

Available in a vibrant orange color to choose from, this BOSTITCH Pancake Air Compressor is both budget-friendly and convenient. It features an electric power supply.

The Bostitch air compressor comes with a PSI of maximum 150 and a tank that can capacitate up to 6 gallons at once. This BOSTITCH air compressor is lightweight and highly portable, so you can carry it almost anywhere with you whenever necessary.

This oil-free air compressor delivers 2.6 SCFM at approximately 90 PSI, which is enough run time for users to do anything with. The high PSI also increases the products longevity by numbers.

You will be glad to know that this review of Bostitch air compressor features only 78.5 DBA, hence it is also known to be really quiet and can even be worked within the dead of the night!

This product comes with a highly efficient motor that runs on 0.8 horse power. We know, that the horse power does not really seem like much but a lot of people actually stated that this air compressor should not be underestimated at all!

On top of that, the BOSTITCH Pancake Air Compressor motor is claimed to work amazingly even under harsh cold weather conditions, so that is always a plus.

The BTFP02012 takes about 2-1/2 minutes to fully pump-up the 6-gallon tank to 150 PSI. The pump-up time isn’t overly critical, as the compressor only has to fill up once. After that, it only restarts when the tank pressure falls below a preset cut-in pressure – in the case of this compressor it’s 120 PSI. The shorter the recovery (tank refill) time, the less noise you’ll be subjected to. On the BTFP02012 the average recovery time is 25 seconds, which isn’t too shabby. Besides, the pump speed, at 90 PSI, is only about 2,700 RPM, which makes for a quieter operation. The compressor is rated at 80 decibels, which I find reasonably quiet, so much so that when I only have a small amount of nailing to do I don’t bother using ear protectors.

I found that I could, on average, sink 47 fasteners (1-1/2″ long 7/32″ crown staples or 1-5/8″ long 18-gauge brads) before the compressor began to recycle. This compares very favourably with other compact compressors I’ve used. If you use the compressor with a finish or framing nailer you won’t be able to sink hardly as many fasteners before the pump comes on.

This is among the best-rated air compressors of all time. It is sturdy and has a cool ergonomic design. The Dewalt DWFP55126 has is highly efficient in the performance of home applications. Powered by a highly effective electric motor, it has a maximum pressure of 165 PSI. This 6 gallon pancake compressor maintains constant supply job flexibility and hence suitable for long hours of continuous use.

  • It is quiet enough for home use as it produces a maximum of 75 decibels
  • It is easily portable and can be carried to different workplaces with ease
  • It has an accurate regulator

  • The fittings are not strong enough
  • Pressure level reduces after continued use

One item we think could be improved upon is the noise level. The Porter Cable C2002 emits 82 dBA using the ISO3744 standard, which is somewhat louder than many competitive models, however given the lower cost of the C2002 this is a trade-off that many are willing to take.

Currently, we don’t recommend that you buy the Porter-Cable C2002-WK combo package which adds a 13-piece accessory kit to the deal. The low quality accessory kit combo adds around $50 to the price and in our opinion is a poor value. Many of the negative reviews that this compressor receives are regarding the cheap accessories such as the air chuck which fails to fully depress the tire’s valve preventing you from inflating the tire.  We feel your money would be better spent buying the C2002 compressor only deal and spending the $50 or so that you’ll save on a good quality air hose and accessories. However, some Porter Cable C2002 pancake compressor & air tool bundles are a good value, like the PCFP12234 described below.

Because you can move it wherever you need very conveniently, even though it weighs 29 pounds, and once you inflated it with air by connecting with an electric outlet, you can use it for a particular duration without further reconnection. So, you could use it for outdoor works for a while.

It does, however, have some drawbacks. It won’t be able to keep you going for long because the pressure will drop after a few moments. You’ll need to reconnect it to the power line in that event. It is preferable to use a long hose so that you can comfortably reach the end of your working area and attach the compressor to an extension cord for continuous operation.

The best thing about this tool is that it goes with any home outlet. Therefore, you won’t have to go through the hassle of installing a separate outlet for it. Moreover, this guy doesn’t need oil to survive. You’ve got to appreciate this cool move made by the manufacturers. For, oil changing isn’t fun.

What about the tank? Is it up for the task? Yeah, you bet, it is. For, they have made it large enough so that you don’t have to worry about refilling all the time. With a tank this size, you shouldn’t have any problem in getting most of the carpentry jobs done without refilling.

I was particularly impressed with its extremely fast recovery time. It’s unbelievable how the machine does it in 25 seconds. Moreover, this model offers versatility in use.

There area unit 2 general varieties of air compressors. reciprocatory air compressors (like the models within the reviews) area unit compact, light, quiet, consume less energy and deliver additional pressure. Rotary screw compressors area unit massive machines best appropriate for high-volume applications and area unit clearly larger, noisier, less energy-efficient, have the additional capability, however, deliver less pressure.

Another issue is that reciprocatory air compressors will be left unused for quite a {while|it slow|your time} while rotary screw compressors quickly break down if not operative. At this stage, if you recognize what you’re probing for, you’ll be able to instantly perceive which kind you would like.

After waiting for a couple of days, I got a reply where they mentioned that the air-compressor delivers 0.8 horsepower. My hunch was correct. Still, I ordered the compressor thinking that if it works well, I will keep it; otherwise, I would get a refund.

After a wait of a few days, I got the package in my hand. It was time for me to test the Bostitch BTFP02012 air compressor. But before doing that, I looked at every nook and cranny of the compressor to ensure that it was free of defects and safe to use. I ensured its build quality and started assembling it.

To start with, let’s talk about the pump and motor of the compressor. The Bostitch machine comes with one 0.9 HP motor. It can operate at 2700 RPM and can draw 15 AMP. Well, you need to install one new outlet if you prefer higher amperage.

Now let’s know about the pump of the air compressor. A pump of Bostitch does not require any maintenance. Mostly, this sort of machine does not need any oil for working.
